Meagan + Zack
Livingston Engagement Session Lindsay Vallas Photography
Meagan & Zack were perfect – every moment of this session, they were laughing, flirting, and enjoying being with each other. They were completely natural, and their smiles were so genuine, so of course, their engagement photos turned out AH-Mazing. I truly loved getting to know them and cannot wait for their wedding next June 2017!
Read below to see their love story!!! xoxo
‘We met in middle school and were friends growing up. Then eventually in high school, we started dating (our junior year). We both graduated high school and went to Ole Miss for undergrad. We had a blast while in Oxford. After undergrad, Zack started physical therapy school, and I started pharmacy school. Fast forward to October 17, 2017. Zack proposed at the Mississippi Petrified Forest in the most perfect way! We’ve been together for 8 years as of August 26, 2016. The rest is history!’
How did he ask you out for your first date?
‘Zack and I were hanging out at a friend’s house one day and he asked me to go get ice cream with him one afternoon after school. So we did, and naturally, I spilled ice cream down the front of my shirt. I was so embarrassed, but Zack thought it was adorable. 8 years later, and I still spill stuff on myself all the time, and he still thinks it’s adorable.’
Where did you go on your first date?
‘Coldstone Creamery located in Madison, Mississippi.’
‘8 years’
Tell me about your proposal!
‘Zack mentioned going to the MS petrified forest to me about two weeks prior to proposing. It sounded like something fun to do on a Saturday, as we both love the outdoors. So I put on my favorite flannel shirt and boots, and got ready on October 17, 2016. It was around 10 in the morning when we got there. I’m pretty sure we were the only people there at the time. We started walking along the nature trail there. Each stop was numbered and had a plaque explaining the different types of petrified wood, how old it was, etc. About 4 stops in, we found a bench that was made of petrified wood. There, Zack sat with me and told me he wanted to live to be a 1,000 with me so we could be together forever. Then he got down on one knee, and all I remember was him asking me to be his wife. I, of course, was crying like a baby at this point because I knew this day would come at some point. We had packed a picnic lunch, but we were so excited to get back and celebrate with our family that we didn’t even eat it. Zack chose October 17th because both his grandparents and parent’s anniversary are October 18th, and he wanted us to be able to share a special day with them. Needless to say, I was over the moon.’
What are your favorite things to do together?
‘We love being outdoors! Hiking, kayaking, fishing, camping- anything like that. Traveling and taking road trips are also a fave. Especially if the traveling involves to sporting events. It’s on our bucket list to visit all 30 Major League Baseball stadiums. We also love attending SEC football games. We’re taking our first road trip to Cinncinati, OH this December to see our first NFL football game together.’
What are the names some of your favorite sports teams?
‘Zack loves the NY Yankees, Los Angeles Rams, Ole Miss, and Ohio State. I love the San Francisco Giants, Pittsburg Steelers, and Ole Miss!’
