I recently shot Natalie and Alex’s engagement session at McClain Lodge, where their wedding will also be held this December! Natalie and Alex had great chemistry together, which made my job super easy! 🙂 I asked them a series of questions, and you can see their answers below!
Congratulations to you both! I can’t wait until your big day!!!

“Alex and I first met through a mutual friend when I moved home from school at MS State. I had just been through a really emotional few months and just ended my relationship with my high school boyfriend of 3 years. I didn’t want to date or even think of any other relationship for a while. I tried to keep myself busy with friends to forget the past and move forward. Two of my best friends that were talking at the time invited me to a get together at Alex’s house and at that time I had no clue what I was getting in to. I thought it sounded fun and it would be nice meeting new people as well. I got there and was introduced to Alex by our friend Hunter. He had intentions of setting us up before we ever knew. Alex and I talked that night and flirted around but he will always remind me that I was outside on the phone with my Ex Boyfriend crying my eyes out haha. After a few more outings with friends we hit it off and he was unsure if it was something he’d be able to pursue due to my emotional roller coaster. He talked with a few of my best friends one night after I was dropped off. He went on to tell them how much he liked me and wanted to pursue a relationship with me and asked them if he should go for it… And obviously they said most definitely! We haven’t been apart since that day 3 years ago as of March! :)”

“Alex is the most plain, simple, easy-going, relaxed and causal person I’ve ever met. We love our friends, family and having a good time more than anything. We both share a love for outdoors, hunting, fishing etc. I always thought he would just randomly propose so nonchalantly but little did I know what he was scheming up the whole time. I’m more of an extravagant, over-doing, and detailive person. That being said he wanted to do something that would be special to me and fit my personality. On Sunday nights Alex and I normally go to dinner just the two of us after a long weekend with friends/family. Most of the times it’s something along the lines of hibachi, sushi, or Mexican. Well Sunday night May 8, 2016 he decided ‘we were going to Amerigos because we both had a craving for it. But also because he knew I always make him dress nice to go there and knew I would as well. We got up from a nap and got all dressed up and were on our way to Amerigos. Of course me doing my makeup in the truck I wasn’t paying attention to much. We pulled up to Amerigos and there was no parking whatsoever. He pulled into the very back and said babe will this be ok? Of course I said alright let’s just go I’m starving !! Then he pulled out my sleeping eye mask and said, ‘ha just kidding we aren’t going here, put this on.’ From there I knew something was up. He wouldn’t let me take it off until I was at the top of the friendship boat on the reservoir and our song ‘Not a Moment Too Soon’ by Tim McGraw was playing. He had my friends and family set it all up with an alter/table for two with 2 dozen roses, candles, pictures, rose petals and all of my other favorite things. He had the biggest grin on his face and we just laughed and talked about how beautiful it was. He finally got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and by no surprise I said yes! He then took me downstairs where all of our friends and family were and had food catered and everything set up so perfectly. We all went back up to the top and had lots of fun, laughs and dancing to celebrate! :)”

“I have a passion to help others, doing makeup and hair! I have my esthetician license and enjoy doing skincare and makeup on the side! I also have a passion for music!! I’m the music queen – I have every song ever and if we are listening to music anywhere at all you can bet I’m the ring leader!! We share his biggest passion of the beautiful outdoors whether it’s being at the pool, riding around in the truck listening to music, hunting, fishing, deer camp work, yard work, playing with our dog Duke :), working out at his land Gulde that he loves, bonfires, volleyball with friends, any outdoor game, watching his brother James Bailey play football and baseball, Etc.”

“I love to shop just like every other girl but it’s one thing Alex despises!! Ha I like shopping at a small boutique in Brandon called Social Jane, Libby Story, Free People, Stein Mart, TJ Maxx, Repeat Street, Dillard’s and Belk! I prefer the small home town boutique over a large department store! I’m in charge of all of his shopping as well being that he hates it ha. I love antiques, bargaining and consignment ! Mostly because it’s fun finding such great deals and I love the window shopping aspect of it! Alex is a truck lover! His dream truck is a Ford F-250 King Ranch!”

“Alex and I are both very athletic and have both been apart of many teams in high school/college. We both enjoy tennis and are members of USTA and currently a part of a league to stay active. My family are die-hard MS State fans as well as Alex’s mother’s side of the family. However he and his father’s side are Ole Miss fans. 🙁 “
