Lucky Town Brewery, Jackson, MS
Jessica & Lucas
Recently, I had the distinct privilege of photographing Jessica and Lucas’s wedding at their new brewery, Lucky Town Brewery, located in Jackson, Mississippi. They have a super cute love story…and this is how they met & eventually fell in love:
Jessica was living in Nashville, Tennessee, and Lucas was living here in Jackson, Mississippi, when they met through mutual friends. They did not start dating right away, but they were actually friends for quite some time after they met. The more they hung out, the more they started to realize they made each other laugh, and they really enjoyed being around each other. One of Jessica’s funniest memories that Lucas still likes to kid her about is before they ever started dating, Jessica told him one night she was an independent woman and did not need a boyfriend. Apparently though, something about Lucas convinced her otherwise, and she actually asked him out on their first date because she thought he was taking to long to ask her out!
After they started dating, they would often go to places in Nashville just to try new beers, and Lucas really got her hooked on drinking craft beer. He made her the beer snob she is today! Jessica loved Nashville, and she really had not planned to move or wanted to move back to Jackson when they first started dating. Over time she saw how passionate he was about starting his own brewery, and she had fallen in love with him, so she decided to move back to Jackson. Jessica moved in late 2013, and they were both so happy to finally be in the same town. Lucas proposed to her in early January 2014 at the brewery’s new building he was renovating to open in the fall of 2014. It was so cold the night he asked her that when he started to propose, before she knew what was going on, she thought he was just shivering. He was actually so nervous he was shaking! Lucas had the ring since the beginning of December, and he had actually put the ring in her stocking on Christmas Day. However, at the last minute, he decided that it was not the right time, and he took it out before she could find it. The proposal at the brewery was perfect, and since it is such a huge part of their lives, they decided to get married there.
The rest of the story is best told through the photos below of their special day.

Jessica’s details for her wedding day were super stylish and made for great photos!
The beautiful floral arrangements were created by Lesley Frascogna from Tulip. And she never fails to deliver the most elegant & modern bouquets.
Lucas and the groomsmen wore Irish kilts, in honor of his Irish/Scottish roots. And this, of course, made for some really fun & unique wedding photos!
Looking sharp, guys.
These groomsmen were truly witty, which kept everyone laughing and having fun.
Jessica’s bridesmaids were there to help her with final touches before seeing her beau for the first time.
The bride and groom opted to see each other before the wedding ceremony, which allowed for plenty of time for wedding photos around the Lucky Town Brewery…
Lusas was awed by his bride…
The bride and groom loved each other in such an intimate way…which is a beautiful thing to see…

The bride and groom opted to begin their ceremony with this quote, in an attempt to make their guests laugh. And I’ll just say, it totally worked.
