There is something so special about love stories that begin in the most unexpected places—and for Evelyn and Joshua, it all started at a wedding. As a Mississippi wedding photographer, moments like these always feel a little extra magical… because one celebration led to the beginning of their own.
Evelyn and Joshua met in November 2024 while standing on opposite sides of a wedding day—he was a groomsman, and she was a bridesmaid. Fast forward two years, and now they’re planning a celebration of their own, set for Friday, November 13th, 2026 (yes… Friday the 13th, and we are obsessed with how fun and unique that is!).
From First Impressions to Forever
Evelyn’s first impression of Joshua? “Very goofy and shy.”
Honestly, that combination tends to be the sweetest foundation for a relationship—and it didn’t take long for their connection to grow.
Their first date was at Amerigo, and shortly after, on December 3rd, 2024, they officially started dating. One of their earliest memories together feels like it belongs in a movie—dancing in Joshua’s apartment living room to “Tennessee Whiskey.” It’s those simple, joy-filled moments that often mean the most.
A Proposal Full of Meaning
Joshua planned a proposal that reflected their everyday love—intentional, relaxed, and meaningful. After church one Sunday, they went to Flowood Nature Park, a place they often visit together. Walking the familiar loop with friends by their side, he got down on one knee and asked Evelyn to marry him.
It was personal. It was thoughtful. It was perfectly them.
Wedding Day Vision
When asked what matters most for their wedding day, their answer was simple:
“Having fun and being as stress-free as possible.”
That intention is everything.
